We Care: Imagining a precinct for purpose in the heart of Melbourne's CBD
We Care is a special collaboration opportunity: A We Care Data + Storytelling Workshop.
We Care creates a space for creative and experiential conversations around the nature of care and civic health in a digitally-intensive, ecologically-fragile world.
Because all the data and all the knowledge in the world can't help us dream and imagine better futures. We also need creative collaborations and partnerships, forged with careful intent.
This is a workshop that combines creative storytelling with data scaffolding. We narrate and sketch the outlines of an imagined future, and then consider the data we need - to create, to share, to build - in order to shape it.
Attendees will include storytellers, regenerators, innovators and future makers interested in how creative practices, data and storytelling can shape healthier habitats for people and nature to thrive.
Attendees will share a story, a poem, an insight, perspective, go on a walk, listen. Build a collaborative portrait of a future precinct.
Attendees will also be invited to have their portrait filmed for inclusion in a future street projection project. (Note: release forms must be signed)
The project is being led by Dr. Sarah Barns (RMIT Centre for Urban Research) with Stephen Johnston of SOMPO Digital Lab and Healthy Habitats.
The event is supported by the RMIT City North Social Innovation Precinct Activation Fund.
